Ahhh.... Southie in the morning, gotta love it. The clang of the bouys, the caw of the seagulls, the fresh Atlantic air just whipping all your troubles down to Cape Cod. Got a picture of it.

M.I.T. in Springtime, oil on linen, 2011, 30" x 48"
Congrats all you college Grads!! Thanks for looking at Sean Boyce Art all year posted up in the cities and towns of Metro Boston while you were busy trying to study - I hope my dazzling representational color fields of love didn't distract you too much (not).
Anyway, in my quest to paint a picture of every square inch of Boston before I die I probably got your school into at least one painting so far.
Here's a painting that definitely got a "piece" of The Massachusetts Institute of Technology - get this image into your devices pronto - (and come see it in person in a brick and mortar studio - limited time!!)

"The Corner Snack Bar"
Oil on canvas, 18" x 24", 2011 I've done three paintings of the inside of this diner. For some reason I love to paint restaurants and bars. This piece could conceivably go in my "Boston Bars" series which I'm planning to exhibit internationally in 2013.

Newbury Afternoon Shadows with Victoria Munroe Fine Arts
I started a tumblr blog at the urging of my son, but since Adam O'Day and Steven James Taylor both use blogger I want to keep a presence here.
This piece can be found also at this link on my website.
Oil on canvas, 24" x 36", 2011, Painted entirely en plein aire on Newbury Street in eight or ten sessions, this piece developed slowly and interestingly, constantly informed by the street (and it's inhabitants) in a very improvisational way.
I gave a link to Victoria Munroe Fine Art (and a shout out in my painting title) because I met her at one of her functions and she is a really cool person.
